Martin McCormick is a design consultant with over two decades of experience creating and delivering innovative interiors, buildings, and branded environments.

He has worked for and collaborated with some of the most respected Architects, Designers and Operators on commercial and residential projects in Ireland and Australia.

Martin strives to create inspirational spaces that are commercially effective and exceed his clients’ expectations.

Prior to establishing his own design consultancy, Martin worked for Red Rock, who own and operate some of Australia’s most recognised hospitality and tourism businesses. As Design Manager, he was responsible for the design and delivery of venues within the group, including partial/full refurbishments and new fit-outs. Projects created and implemented included Little Ludlow, Macchinetta ,Two Johns, and Brunetti Cafe at Melbourne Airport; a tram shelter for The Colonial Tramcar Restaurant, Hophaus, as well as upgrades to Eureka 89, Ludlow, and Temperance in Melbourne; Macchinetta Coffee, Longneck Domestic & International Terminals at Perth Airport; Rattle & Hum Sidebar and Pier Bar in Cairns; Paddy’s Irish Pub in Port Douglas, and PJ O’Brien’s in Sydney.

Martin first moved to Australia in 1997, and initially worked for Geyer Design, Australia’s largest Interior Design Practice in both the Sydney and Melbourne offices on commercial projects such as Optus Telecommunications, Ansett Airlines Sydney Terminal, and Singapore Pools.

This led to him working for The Irish Pub Company/McNally Design Group in Sydney where he helped win new business for the Group. Martin co-ordinated projects from initial concept design through to successful completion on site in close collaboration with their offices in Dublin and Dubai. He worked on Irish pub fit-outs and various hospitality projects in Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Philippines, and Fiji for clients such as Gallagher Hotels, The Roche Group, Red Rock Leisure and Burswood Casino.

Before and after moving to Sydney, Martin was employed at Douglas Wallace in various roles, including his first job after graduating from college where he designed a range of furniture for National Irish Bank. Later, he managed the Peter Mark account where he designed, documented and project managed the implementation of several salons throughout Ireland, as well as being responsible for the design of Waterford Crystal at Dublin Airport Duty Free and display units for John Rocha @ Waterford Crystal. He also worked as Business Development Manager for the Sales & Marketing Department where he contributed to the growth of the business, quality of brand communications, and success of various marketing and promotional campaigns.

Between above roles, Martin was awarded a one year internship by the Promotions Department at The Irish Trade Board, where he assisted in designing exhibition stands for Irish companies at International Trade Fairs. Projects included Food Ireland Dublin, CEBIT Hannover, Children’s Book Fair Bologna, and The Look is Ireland Washington DC. Subsequently he worked at Exhibit Design where he assisted in designing exhibition stands in Europe, concept proposals of Irish Pubs in Russia, and a pitch for the design of Moscow Duty Free.

Martin graduated in Environmental Design at the Dublin Institute of Technology in 1993.
